Good Morning. We just got back from a two week vacation to the south land. Glad to be back even if there is snow on the ground this morning. Pam and Jim, Calumet

Good morning from a chilly and frosty Mishawaka IN. We had a trace of sleet yesterday. Suppose to get warmer as the week continues. Have a great day everyone.

Morning All. Looks like an absolutely beautiful sunrise in the up as the Bridge Cam reflects on the channel waters. Enjoy the day!

Margaret, Amarillo, TX

I can't believe the weather you are getting!! I saw it on the news this morning - and I thought our weather was cold! ha! Snow?? Wow! Hope it warms up for you soon.

Have a great day everyone!!

I couldn't find Sgt. Nate's gallery. Not listed under "nate" alphabetically. Really would like to see it if someone can advise me.

Deb, Muskegon: Yep, the kids thought we'd have a "snow day" but we reminded them it comes later in the month (haha). Out latest snow was May 6-7 in 1917. But like I said yesterday, the Mesquite trees have not bloomed yet--should have known stuff could fall from the sky. Rainy today. If there is a rainy season in Amarillo, it is April, May. Our tornado season is upon us and will last through July.

To MaijaMI:
Look on page 9 of the "Guest Gallery". It is the last entry on that page.

By Robert, CO on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 - 11:53 am:

MaijaMI: Look under "Sgt Nathan Tormala".

By maijaMI on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 - 02:42 pm:

Thanks WRS and Robert.

Fascinating gallery, Sgt Nate. What contrast between Afghanistan and the Keweenaw! Leaves one feeling awed and humbled.

The Sunday (May 1) Birmingham (Alabama) News had a bit in a column on the Sports page which said "Chicago Cubs bench coach Dick Pole grew up in the extremely cold Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Pole told the Chicago Tribune that if anyone asks what people on the peninsula do in the summer, he answers, 'If it falls on a Saturday, we have a picnic.'"

sur5er what show was it on eh..

By sur5er on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 - 09:08 pm:

Kromer Wearer,
I believe it was the Travel Channel's John Rasenburger show. It was a short segment...about 10 minutes, but it gave the history of the kromer, and did an interview with da owner of da Kromer company in da UP. It was just great to see something from home on the Travel Channel. :)
