Any time of year when you take a trip to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore near Munising, you'll experience some spectacular views. But Steve Brimm picked an optimum time with the leaves just starting to bud on the birch trees in this view. That way we all get a much wider vista of the shot, without having to get too close to the edge! Steve also has several new additions in his gallery - - and looks like congratulations to the newlyweds are in order!

Brimm's galleries are AMAZING. And, his ability to capture the beauty of rock is what strikes me most. This spot on the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore is one I've seen many times. Nice work steve

GREAT pictures in your gallery, Steve.

My nephew Brendan just came home from back packing at the lakeshore. Last year when he was planning a trip there I suggested he stay well back from the edge: "That rock tends to crumble and you may fall right over into the lake." This year I repeated the same advice (Ol' Aunt Hen) and he grinned and said, "I followed your advice last year." "What advice?" "To not fall in."

Many years ago (more years than I care to claim) I was pushing through thick underbrush off the trail and walked right over the edge. The cliff face had recently collapsed into the lake and the trees and brush dangled over the side. I grabbed branches and hauled myself back up, but that taught me to stay back from the edge and on the trail. It's a long swim to a beach.

Steve, I just looked through your gallery. Thanks for a morning walk through God's Country. The Autumn Storm photo is today's background. I bought your book for my Mom last Christmas; it is absolutely beautiful. Maybe we'll get it out this weekend and go through it again.

Congratulations, newlyweds.

Beautiful, beautiful work Steve. I also have your book, and plan to stop by your shop in Copper Harbor when I'm up there.

Congratualtions on your marriage! Thanks for your fantastic photography. I sent your book "Michigan's Upper Penninsula, Spirit of Place" to my brother in Hawaii for his birthday this year. He greatly appreciated all of those beautiful pictures of the "homeland"!

Reminds me of the times my daughter and I would go hiking in the Pictured Rocks...May was our favorite time of the year to do it. Matter of fact, I know I have a pic exactly like this one somewhere in one of my photo albums that my daughter took the last time we were up at Pictured Rocks :)

Congrats to the newlyweds :)
