I think we are having a late April Fools Joke in the metropolitan Detroit suburbs and north of here. There is a winter storm warning out for 8 - 12 inches of snow from this afternoon through Sunday evening. We just tied the hottest temperature of 83 degrees this past week and now we have a winter storm warning! Michigan weather is surely never boring!

Therese, I loved the doggie joke...it definately had me chuckling. Mary, at one time I didn't really care for dogs either...that was until an Ohio police officer gave my daughter and me my companion dog. Her loyalty and dedication is beyond words.

Could you tell me how the pasty came to the UP,I am Cornish myself and it sounds by the recipe that it is very close cousin of the Tattie Oggie as we call it,also remember reading a book about a place in Minnesota which made Cornish Pasties. There is a lot of the Cornish Miners went all over the world for work after our mines started to close maybe that is how it came to be,we say that where-ever there is a hole or mine cousin Jack will be down there. My mother used to keep in touch with some kin from Houghton many years ago in the 1940`s they were called Williamson I believe

Does anyone know of an Arnold Jarvey? He may be dead, but was my dad's best friend growing up, which leads me to believe he may have been from Gay. Last I knew, he lived in Ohio.
