I have been showing hubby the evening webcam shots from Sharon's Copper Harbor cam, (I know, I am hitting him hard about moving to the UP). He was pouting this evening.."gosh it's only 7:30 at night and already dark here in Indiana". Meanwhile, back in Copper Harbor, the sun did it's final hurrah at about 9:15pm...even with the time difference that's almost an hour more of evening light.

Gosh I miss Michigan and the fact that the sun didn't set until so much later, in the evening.

Took a peek at the Bridge Cam and it is a beautiful sunrise in the UP. Enjoy the day everyone.

I noticed that the ice is breaking up on the canal. Spring is here! But that got me wondering if there has been any flooding on rivers. I especially am wondering about the Sturgeon River,outside of Chassell.

The ground frost depth was stated as 20 inch's in Keweenaw County as of last Friday. If the current predicted high temperatures "happen", it shouldn't be must longer for road restrictions to come off.

My inlaws live on the Sturgeon in Chassell and they're in a hotel as of Sunday AM. Water was up to the road in a couple of spots. They normally don't bug out until its over the road, but they were alarmed at how quickly it came up over the weekend.

Two canoeists were cited off the Lil Betsy shore yesterday, April 3rd. Hope they had life-jackets on! Anyone want to fess up? The water level is very low, but has been calm for a few days. Can see the sandstone and boulders down there real good. Welcome Spring!

All the talk about Mackinac Island has me so homesick today. I'm sitting at the computer drinking my coffee out of my Mackinac Island Lilac Festival coffee cup that I got the last time we were at the island.

Then today, it was nice enough that we opened the front door...and with the breeze, I could hear the chimes on my bear wind chime that I bought at Whitefish Point.

So as if that didn't make me homesick enough, a little while ago I went out into the front yard, and hubby had put up the camper in the driveway. I'm surprised that he isn't taking his nap in it ;)

Yup. My address is my first name followed by @pikebay.com. Spiders are very good at culling addresses from sites like this. This is my main, home email address and I'm trying not to have it polluted with spam. I have another domain where I can create 500 email addresses and I use that when a site requires an email address for some reason. Within days, those addresses start getting spam as info is distributed among junk mailers. Those 'do not share my address' buttons are there for your amusment, but I don't think they stop anyone who wants to make a buck from selling your address.

Don't think there's money in spam? One of the few people convicted under a new federal law lived in a 4000 sq. foot home in the DC $ubrubs equipped with a data center that was fed by *16* T1 network lines.
