Thanks to the unseasonable temperatures, sunshine and even the rain we've been having, the snow has been melting at a rapid pace. It's definitely not the prettiest time of the year here in the U.P., with the snow taking on a dingy appearance. But if you look past the sand covered snow, like Jamie Harter did in these two shots, you'll find the beauty is still there just waiting for you to discover! Peering through the arch in the top picture you can just see what looks like a chunk of ice floating way out in Lake Superior. In the second shot, the bergs of ice are breaking away from the shoreline, bit by bit, reminding us that summer is on its way.

Herb_Wis, I live in Ahmeek, looking out towards the bluff and Bumbletown there's patches of snow, guessing maybe around a foot deep, if not less, with just as many patches of bare ground showing.

Good Afternoon: Beautiful Pics. Lake looks awsome. 70 here in Missouri, nice sunny day, birds are singing, the tree are getting their leaves, and the flowers are starting to bloom. Miss the wildflowers and such in the U.P. but don't miss the cold and snow.
