Thank you, Shirley. Janie, I'm glad the surgeon was on his toes; better safe than sorry! Merry Christmas to all Pasty people. And, from one famous line: "God Bless Us, Everyone!".
Shirley, I know this Christmas will be especially hard on you, since your loss of your husband is so recent. Honestly, it took my Mom about four years to get over my Dad's passing enough to really get out and enjoy life again, in spite of new grandchildren. She and my Dad were married over 53 year before my Dad died. In her case, I'm sure that the fact that they were married on Christmas Eve made it that much harder. When people pick special days like that to get married, they don't realize how that can affect you in times of loss. Also, my Dad died on Valentine's Day 1985, which made it even harder on both my Mom and me. Hugs to you, Shirley. God Bless You!

Thank you so much, Marianne, for your kind thoughts....means a lot to me!
So very sad about your mom and dad's anniversary being Christmas Eve and your dad passing away on Valentine's Day, but when we're young and in love, thoughts about what may happen in the future never enter our minds, do they. Thankfully there are our memories that span our lives together! And we draw strength from God to make it through another day.
I hope you and your family have a blessed Day today. And, thank you for the "hugs"!
