What is in a breakfast pasty?

I remember 2006 and how mild it was that December.
That was the year I bought the Wing and I went for a drive on December 24th all the way up M-29 to Port Huron.
Come on, global warming :-)

Mickill, potatoes, bacon, eggs and cheese are in some breakfast pasties. There are other variations where you can use sausage or ham. This is not the voice of experience, it's called Google. :)

Speaking of unusual weather, I wish Capt. Paul and/or Dr. Nat would come forward and give their opinions on the "Greenland Block". Being reported as the weather phenomenon that's causing the lack of some areas receiving cold temps and snow.

I wish Dr.Nat and Capt.Paul would comment on the
findings in Menominee County and parts of northern Wisconsin relative to ore deposits. We hear gold, silver, iron ore, etc. any idea just what might be
in those areas?
And what is the possibility of extracting those ores
in a manner that won't harm the environment.

I wish Dr. Nat and Capt. Paul would comment on the forming of the Lake Superior Basin.

Looks like a busy day ahead for Capt and Dr. Nat.

And I thought today was going to be my first day off after a long semester!

In answer to the question about the Greenland Block, I must first remind everyone that the atmospheric system is very complex, so subtle changes in distant places can have far-reaching effects. The Greenland Block is a zone of high pressure that develops over Greenland in northern hemisphere winter and can steer storm systems and cold air masses. When a strong Greenland block develops, cold air tends to be directed to the Midwestern United States and Northern Europe. For example, last year there was a strong Greenland Block in place and Germany had an exceptionally cold winter. This year, no Greenland Block has developed, so it is likely that winter in the Midwest will be milder. However, and this is a very big however, the Greenland Block is known to develop quickly and other climate phænomena, such as La Niña, have an influence on it, so things could change in the second half of winter.

I believe the area you speak of in Menominee County is the Back Forty Project, a joint venture between Aquila Resources and HudBay Minerals. I wouldn't say I know a lot about the project, but a good overview can be found on Aquila's Back Forty Project website. Also, click on some of the links on that page as they will provide more information about the deposit and regional geology.

As far as extracting the ores: man has the technology to safely and cleanly extract any mineral out of the ground, and many companies do a fantastic job of this. Unfortunately, we never hear of the success stories of mining reclamation and only the terrible propaganda and photos opponents of mining want us to see. These days, companies in the US and Canada cannot even scratch the ground without posting bonds for environmental cleanup so that they will return the land as it was before operations began.
