My sweetie opened his pasty, the crust, and put a slice of cheese on it and nuked it for a few seconds. Must admit, it tasted pretty good.

Mickill, that sounds good...may give it a try. Was only able to eat part of one this evening...so LARGE...but I tried the 'recommended' ketchup....think I'll stick to gravy or nothing at all.;) But then again, I'm not a big fan of ketchup anyway. (oops, I think this is supposed to be on another 'page') sorry, Mary:)

I used to put Cheezwhiz on my pasties. Loved it, it would melt down into the hot pasty! MMmm, good. 'Course I sorta dissect my pasty into 1" squares before I put a little butter on 'em. Now that I'm a 'little' diabetic I watch my carbs and fats.

Shirley, I used to be able to eat a whole one, but I can't eat as much as I used to, so I eat a half one. What about cut one in two, after it's baked, and refrigerate half and eat half? And then, the next meal or day, you could have the other half with gravy? Or, you might heat it in the microwave and try some kind of cheese on it?

Ken ja Mimi, sorry to hear you're a "little" diabetic, but sounds like you've got a 'head on your shoulders', continue doing what you're doing to keep down trouble. My husband had diabetes but loved food, so we really had to keep close watch on the carbs and fats. Most people used to think that diabetics only had to watch 'sweets', not so. Good health to you!
