Another month has come and gone, along with the year 2011. We take this last day of the year to remember those that have gone on before the rest of us, leaving much too soon. This month we hold these people in our hearts:

Remembering our parents Norman and Helen Pooley, Ed and Sophie Kuusisto, Aunt Lyle Pooley, our sister in law and dear friend Phyllis Kuusisto, Karen Kuusisto, Janet Trasti, our good buddy Nitz Kumpula, our nephew “The Chief” Churchill, our sweet niece Rosie Churchill, Our niece Bailey Hartmann, our brother in law and friend Wayne Hartmann our sister and best friend Flo Hartmann and our dear sweet baby girl Annie Kuusisto.
We love and miss you all so much.

This is in Memory of my Grandmother, who died Dec. 18, 1973, my Dad, Dec. 22, 1995, and my K-9 boxer, Duke, Dec. 30, 2000. Until we're together again. Those photos on the last day of each month are especially beautiful.

In loving memory of my aunt and God-mother Virgina (Schwartz) Oshmalokski who passed in 1999. Also all of my loved ones who passed in 2011.

Remembering my Dad, who passed away quietly in his bed, on Christmas morning of 2003. I thought to myself, a fitting time for a very spiritual individual.

For all my family and loved ones, both people and pets, I miss each and everyone of you and cherish all the memories living on in my heart. Sadly, there are getting to be so many to list individually.

The picture reminds me of a phrase that stuck with me from a poem...don't remember which one or by which poet...."the day goes down in a blaze of glory". And that's how we should live our lives - bright and purposeful, a beacon showing the way to the next life. All of our loved ones have left a little spark of their blaze in our lives so we can continue to burn on. Without having known them we would be less.

In memory of my brother Dave Pranger who would have been 52 today. He passed one day after his 42nd birthday. Still missed. RIP Dave.

Remembering my dad, Ben Durocher, who passed away 3 years ago on December 9. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him and miss his presence in my life!!

If I knew for certain that I should die next week, I would still be able to sit at my desk all week and study with perfect equanimity, for I know now that life and death make a meaningful whole.
