It took 14 Christmases on the Pasty Cam for us to finally make it to Christmas, Michigan (with special thanks to 9teen87). This icon has stood since the 30's on a long stretch of highway between Munising and Marquette. Mrs. Claus stood for many years down at the other end of town (near the casino, a more recent addition), but the last time we passed through, we didn't see her. (down for repairs? divorce? etc.)

Good Merry Christmas Morning! Bob & I have been to Christmas, Mi. a fun little town to visit! Everyone needs to visit Christmas, Mi. at least once!

The wife and I always stop in Christmas. It must be that big log building. Also we went to Santa Clause,Indiana. It sure is another fun town. But Christmas,Michigan is a lot more fun.

Dean, if it's in the UP it's gonna be much more fun! :-) I heard one of Santa's 3rd shift guys talking on his way out the door afte work this morning. He said, "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good day!" I heartily agree!

There's a town called Holly downstate, and they do the Charles Dickens Christmas throughout the town...folks are dressed for the period, decorations are cool...very neat time there too!

I watched an episode of Dog the Bounty Hunter yesterday...he took one of his grandkids to hunt Santa...and she found him...it was the coolest thing....Santa gave her a bell off his sleigh, his driver's license was "legit"....it truly was heart warming.

When my husband was a kid in the 1960's, his family
would travel from Detroit to visit his grandparents
in Lake Linden every summer. They ALWAYS stopped at
Christmas. There was a black bear (in a cage) that
would drink soda pop from a bottle. I'm sure this
would be frowned upon now, but back in the day it
was very entertaining. Great UP memories!

A Merry Christmas to all. We had dinner/presents here last nite for 14 and I am sure it will provide many memories for the youngsters as it did for me growing up in Hubbell.

I've driven through Christmas at least twice. Like 2 stop and visit it a bit sometime. Merry Christmas.

Does anyone remember when Mrs Claus was at another business on the east side of town? It was Mrs. Claus' kitchen - a nice family restaurant. We stopped there to eat when i was little as some family friends either owned or managed it.

I live in Holly Mi. and vacation in Christmas right across from the gift shop pictured above. The resort is one of the best in the area and the owners are the greatest people.

In my lifetime, I have been through Christmas, Michigan, close to 150 times, but always on the way to Marquette, Ishpeming, Michigamme, or Houghton ... or heading back downstate ... so have never taken the time to stop and browse. However, one year in the early 1970's my Dad and I took a quick trip "Up North" not too long before Christmastime. On the way back downstate, as we were passing through Christmas, we got a pine tree ... or as Dad said, "We got our Christmas tree from Christmas, MI." Thanks, Dad, for that fun memory ... I sure miss you! Merry Christmas to all the Pasty Peeps!

Merry Christmas!!! I think I just talked about Christmas, MI., the other day on here. We stopped a couple of years ago on our way from St. Ignace to Lake Linden. We made the stop, have the same pictures as above, and got some fun stuff from there. I got my 99 (at the time) year old aunt an ornament from there, and myself a couple, too!! She was so excited to receive it because she said she didn't have one from there. I loved browsing the shop there, and the woman there was so very nice. Just a totally fun place to visit! I absolutely love it, probably because I absolutely love Christmas!

May God Bless and Merry Christmas to all! Has anyone been to the store near Frankfurt, MI which boasts to be the largest Christmas Store in the world? They are kinda like the size of a Walmart Super store except that it's all Christmas stuff.

Merry, Merry, Merrry Christmas to all! I hope Santa was good to each and every one of you (whether you were naughty or nice). No snow here in Lansing. Oh, well, I'm sure Mother Nature is just away for the holidays.

There is a store near Frankenmuth called Bonners, and let me say it is BIGGER than a Wal-Mart superstore. The store has (3) floors of different things to buy. They also have a great window-animated, christmas displays. You can stand there and watch them for quite awhile. The store is open year round selling Christmas items. We bought a few things from there. Great place to visit. There are other things to do when you go to Bonners. A must visit place.

I sent a box of Christmas cards to Christmas, Mi. one time, to have the Christmas, Mi. stamped on the envelope. Well, I had a lot of friends ask me how did I do that? Told them it was Santa Claus....

We got pretty busy today, Shirley. Time to relax now.

Merry Christmas to all. Spent our day in lower MI with son and his family. Now we're home wondering where I lost my set of keys to the truck. Since I had them when we left home and couldn't find them when we arrived back home. Hope the daylight of tomorrow will show us where they are.

I have a snapshot (with a Brownie camera) of my Mom & me in front of the bear who drank bottled pop, it was about 1956 or so...

Another Christmas, mi, memory I have is. Not to long after my grandma passed away in 1975, my grandpa and uncle and I took a trip up to Calumet. On the way we stopped at the campgrounds by Christmas. We set up a little tent for the three of us and my grandpas cot, off the tent floor, for him. It was a fun trip.

As students at NMU we'd always mail our Christmas cards in Christmas on the way home for break. It was interesting to see who noticed the special postmark.

JH, I ordered all of my grandchildren personalized ornaments that would be special to their hearts from Bronner's. I hope to do it next year, also. They have one for just about everything. Each of the children just loved theirs. Just gave the last two out tonight. One was to my grandson who plays the clarinet, and the other to my granddaughter who plays hockey! I hope they liked them. They seemed to. It's nice when you can give something so personal like that, and you know it comes from the heart when you take the time to find something that is so fitting for each child. After moving from Dollar Bay down to Royal Oak in
1965,it was our yearly vacation going back to visit
grandparents and aunts/uncles/cousins. My dad made
his annual stop in Christmas and of course that
included a picture of me under good ole Santa and
buying the black Bear a pop. Great memories for
sure.

This was my childhood home! My grandparents built this home/giftshop/ giant Santa and then my parents took over. Amy the bear was in our family for over 30 years until he passed away. Its nice to see so many people have fond memories of my childhood home and "pet". Thanks for the pictures! I'd love to see pictures of the bear if anyone has any.
