Winter normally makes its appearance here UP North by December, if not before, so today's photo from Steve Brimm, is a perfect example of the beginnings of the snowy season along Lake Superior's shores. If you have your very own "Legends of the Pasty Cam 2011" calendar, you know this photo also graces the month of December.
Steve Brimm is another of the professional photographic artists that helped the Pasty Cam along in the early formation years (and still does today), by generously sharing his talent for capturing nature at its best, in and around Copper Harbor.
With this December photo, we come to the end of our Calendar photo feature for the first of each month. You can get your very own Pasty Cam Calendar fix by purchasing the new 2012 Calendar that is hot off the presses. It features photos from names that have been around Pasty Central for awhile, along with some newcomers too. The photos are all beautiful scenes in vivid color and would make the perfect gift for anyone on your Christmas list, especially those you'd like to give a little "piece of the U.P." to. You can place your orders here: Pasty Cam Calendar 2012. Another great gift idea and a way to save money on postage, is to order delicious UP Pasties, since any gift items you order with the pasties, will be included with no additional postage. You can place your pasty orders here: UP Pasties. Proceeds from the sales of pasties and calendars, help to support care for the elderly here in the UP.

I was so excited to get my calendars yesterday and to see my Esry Park photo for June. Thank you so much for including this picture of one of my favorite places on earth!

The new calendar is absolutely beautiful, and it is easy to see why the Esry Park photo made it!

Steve's picture is perfect to gaze at on a hot, humid, stagnant-air day in summer. You can imagine the clear cold air, see the beauty of the white and blue and wind evidence on the tree.
Come cold and wet or icy cold, give me Brita's children on the beach!

Great photo! The lake-background almost looks unreal.

What a very beautiful picture! I enjoy winter and snow. Beats the alternative, sitting in the house eating too much!

Gorgeous picture, thanks Steve, and to Joe for the Pasty Calendar cover! Wonderful to have people out there sharing their photographic endeavors for the rest of us to enjoy daily and enjoy we do!

Sdcferndale it looks right to me when I just checked it. I read it every night and it has been a new one. Try to go out and reload it, might have the old date catched on your computer??
By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Thursday, December 1, 2011 - 01:01 pm:
Sdcferndale, I read it this morning and the date was November 30. (I was disappointed that there were no updates on "Jasmine"....the elusive kitty):>

Steve/Shirley-- I reloaded it and it still says November 27th and so does the webcam whereas, the bridge cam says 12/1. Oh well, another cyber glitch which hopefully will work itself out.

Sdcferndale, you will have to purge the cache in your browser and possibly your history files as well. The site is up to date. Shirley, no news is no news. When there is movement on the Jasmine front, I will post it. Haven't seen or heard her today. She does still live here, and every few days she appears to make sure I do, too.

Glad to hear it, Sharon, thank you! I'm waiting for her to start 'bombing' up and down the hall again.

I didn't know coconut palms grew along Lake Superior....

I love that photo but I do think it's been "enhanced" in some way. Something about it just doesn't look real to me. Just too much color or something. Regardless, it's a neat shot.
