Winter has arrived here in the Keweenaw and so has the end of another month. So we pause today and honor the memory of loved ones and friends that have passed on before us.

Remembering my dad, R.L. Johnson, and my Doberman Pinscher, Lucky. Dad served in WWII and had great admiration for the service dogs during that era. I'm sure dad and Lucky are the best of friends.

Remembering my Dad, George Kentala, who left us in August. Miss you Dad.

George Hite was one of the first writers I recall seeing on the Internet when it was brand new. He and Pasty Central and Sharon Smith and John Dee were all "blogging" long before the word was even invented.

R.I.P. AUNT VIRGINIA VUOLLE AND COUSIN MIKE MULLER, I TRUST YOU'RE WITH THE REST OF THE FAMILY!

I'm remembering my grandfather this morning!! He passed away on Veteran's Day in 1983. He was a good man, and I think about him often.

We love and miss you all so much. You are always close by in our hearts.

Remembering my grandpa, Joseph Butala, who passed away November 4th,1972. Also, RIP George Hite. I miss reading your wonderful descriptions of your harbor and surrounding areas.

Remembering my Grand-mother Cecila Kowalski who passed 11-06-1960, my uncle Edward (Shadow) Kowalski, who passe 11-06-2011, 51 years after his mmother. Also my aunt Clara Mc Guire woh passed 11-12-2011. All will be missed, and in our hearts forever. "Speak their name and they will never be forgotten".

Remembering our friend Mike Kramer. He passed away this week on Sunday November 27th. Mike was a WI State Trooper for many years.

In rememberance of my step-dad Robert L. Smith of Clinton Twp. who passed away on this date in 1999.

It's sad and difficult to lose a family member or friend but for some of us losing a pet is equally painful. On this Nov. 3rd we lost our beloved yellow Lab "Patty" at only 10 years old. I have trouble accepting what the vets tell me that the lifespan of these type dogs is only 10-14 years.
Some of you may remember a few years ago (07) we lost Pattys Mom & Aunt within a months time. I remember the kind consoling words from several of you then! We were so grateful though that we had the daughters of the mom "Wiggles" to carry on. Now one of them is gone and all left of that family is Pattys sister "Spooky" ---who is doing fine so far at 9 years old :)

I WANT TO LET YOU KNOW JOE PEREAULT PASSED AWAY THIS MONDAY. I WILL REMEMBER HIM IN MY PRAYERS.
JOE HAD A GREAT VOICE FOR SINGING & GREAT GUITAR
PLAYER. HE HELPED MANY PEOPLE IN NEED, SICKNESS OR DIFFICULTY

Always remembering my grandmother, Viena Perttunen of Mass City, who died on November 30, 1997 and my cousin, Craig Garlow, who died on November 30, 1982. I can't believe they've been gone so long - it seems like just yesterday.

Remembering my cousin Patty's husband, Bob Kananen from Chassell. He died last Wed. after being a resident of Cypress Manor for 2 years.

Sorry this is late but I meant to mention George Hite in my 'rememberings' yesterday. My husband, Frank, whom some of you know departed this year, loved the writings of George. We both felt, after reading some of George's entries, the need to give him a 'standing ovation'. That's how interesting and refreshing his words were. We'll miss you George!
