There are so many things to be thankful for today, but since we're all about showing off the beauty of the Upper Peninsula here on the Pasty Cam, we're showing our appreciation of the U.P. with some photos from one of the best, Steve Brimm. He was up at Lake Manganese, in Copper Harbor, to watch the sun go down and snapped these beauties to share. If the snow on the rocks, the picnic table and the beach, aren't enough to tell you that summer is over, perhaps the thin layer of ice on the lake will convince you that, (as Steve so aptly put it...) 'the summer swimmin' hole is closed.' Always a good place for a swim, a picnic or some kayaking, this small lake is a gem to be thankful for.

So, during this busy day of turkey and dressing, join us in taking some time to stop and quietly give thanks for all the blessings in our lives.

Dear God,

Together, we feel Your presence and power in us and though us.
We give thanks for this community of prayerful, thoughtful people who gather together in a consciousness of love each day.
We are thankful for Your spirit, which is the life we share.
We are thankful for the Earth and the food that grows abundantly.
We are thankful for the waters of our planet, which refresh and sustain us.
We are thankful for the air we breathe.
We are grateful for our lives and trust that every experience is part of the process of our unfolding into higher realms of expression.
We set our intention that this Holiday season be truly a Holy Time.
We take this opportunity to reflect on our blessings and we commit ourselves to being the people You created us to be.
On this Thanksgiving Day, we expand our minds and open our hearts to You and to each other.
We bless all those unsung heroes who are at work today: fire fighters, peace officers, our service men and women, medical people and emergency technicians.
We appreciate the bounty that we enjoy and we look forward with hope to the end of lack, suffering and limitations of every kind.

to C.H. It is a treat to see the lake in its winter garb.

This man is a great kind & gentle man who means alot to my family & his days or hours on earth are very few now.
