Interesting that Brian Thomas' pic of the wooden swing so much resembles mine, including the view! I wonder if he's a neighbor of mine in Aura on Keweenaw Bay?

UC I have a nephew who is 46 this year. Now that makes me feel old. Also a niece who is 53. Wish I had forgotten about her.Really makes me feel old.So far today here in Berkley it is sunny and cold. Jimmie the fat white cat moves from one register to the other. My office has a floor register and it was getting cool in here. Low and behold the cat had fluffed himself up and covered the entire register. Can't wait to see the goblins tonight. Some people really go all out and dress the kids up.

Ontonagon has a really bittersweet tradition for Halloween. If you can't afford to give out treats, don't turn your porch light on, if you can, turn the light on.
This is also the time to go through your winter clothing and donate to keep the unfortunate warm.
Looks as if the deer have headed to their winter yards, haven't seen many. The Snow Buntings are fluttering all over. No snow in sight. Looks like John Dee's prediction might be right. :)

I believe the notion of keeping your outside house lights off if you don't choose to pass out candy is a national sign and not just an Ontonagon tradition. We'll keep our lights off at our house, but only because we're going to a neighbors house to dole out sweet treats...
Oh, and how 'bout them Huskies?? No. 16 in the polls which happens to be one place higher than that other school to the southeast. ;-)

I must say though that I am very pleased with all three U.P. teams ranked in the top 20; could this be the re-emergence of U.P. college hockey on the national scene?? From reading the forums, the rest of the nation is taking notice as well....
