This is a popular time of year for many folks to make their way UP North, since the color show is always something special to observe. Nancy Nelson was one of the visitors recently and she definitely wasn't disappointed in what she found. Her shots today were taken in the Sturgeon River Gorge area and they give you a grand idea of the subtle color to be found, along with the blasts of bright leaves, too. Nature really does paint us a beautiful landscape this time of year.

Beautiful colors, rocks. Have to ask since I've never been there.... in the first photo, are those rock ledges 'free-form' or were they cut?

We have been to that gorge and it is something to see. That blue team from Ann Arbor is flying high right now but they won't score 30 points when the meet that GREEN team from Lansing.
