Is the Paradise Garden's on the road to McLain Park? I've been trying to think of the name of that place for ages, and then you have a picture of that and it kind of jogged my memory, but I'm still not sure. And could somebody tell me where Cable Lake is?

Paradise Gardens was located at Highway Location on US41 between Hancock and Calumet. No longer exists.

Was it the one that led to the golf course??

Usedtobeayooper: Paradise Gardens was just off US-41 (just about where the 4-lane starts, or ends, depending on your direction of travel) on Paradise Road, I believe. If you were heading to Calumet from Hancock you would turn right and just down the road to the right was Paradise Gardens.

Okay, thanks Debi. I think my folks used to go there for dinner once in a while. We pass that sometimes when we turn down to go to Hubbell from US 41. Does anybody remember the name of the restaurant/bar that was on the corner as you turn to go to McLain Park?

If it's the Cable Lake I'm thinking of, it's about 6 miles west of US-141 between Covington and Amasa.

We finally got some rain yesterday. Not near enough to even make a ding in the drought, but every little bit helps. I swear as it was raining I could hear a definitive sucking sound outside.....

It is a great site. Deb! If one dosen't know the answer to something, someone out there in Pastyland does have the answer. Therefore, this site is very helpful with just about anything.

So proud of the Lions. They had KFC for lunch today. Kansas Fried Chiefs. Best game I ever saw.
Leaves are really turning after the frost we had during the last two days. Get UP here and see nature painting at her best.
