I like Joyce's dog. A happy dog. My young one finally lost her apprehension about the lake and was dancing in the gentle surf towards the end of our month long visit this summer.

Nancy, my Westie, "Yooper Joe", aka, Joey, loves swimming after sticks in Lake Superior. It's pretty funny when the waves are bigger than him. Checked your profile and see you have Westies. They are a special breed!!! :)

Still getting smoke and ashes from Minnesota. Found out the forest fire has been burning since August 18th and we're just now hearing about it?

Yes, I have Westies and they are "special" to say the least! They live in Colorado most of the time and while they like the beach, swimming is not their favorite thing. Violet (the young one)was warming up though and I hope next year to have more fun with them UP north.

Good pictures. BTW, does anybody know how Phillips 66 gasoline got its name? When Phillips Petroleum was testing a new grade of gasoline in the 1920's, the company's occupants of the car were driving on U.S. Route 66, and the passenger said that they must be going 60 m.p.h. The driver said they were going 66 m.p.h. So it was deceided to call the new gasoline Phillips 66.

Winds are blowing and Gitchee Gumee is roaring.

Had a geologist friend stop by. Asked him about Global Warming and he replied; "No one wants to admit it but I do." I believe him, we've basically poisoned our environment.

On another good note; the sun is finally shining and we don't have to light the woodstove.

Sent the 'preposterous' to all my friends and family who have flown UP. HaHa! I am still laughing! (And people don't believe me when I tell them that finding them will be no problem as the air port is just one room!)
