A very good morning..
We are thinking (a lot more dangerous than the future!)
If you piddle around with the writings of SØren Kierkegaard, you will probably conclude that he was a little confused. But one thought he had right: "He who fights the future has a dangerous enemy. The future is not! It borrows its strength from the man himself, and when it has tricked him out of this, then it appears outside of him as the enemy he must meet."
Not so, says our media! Try considering the future as your friend....easier to meet. Let's hope we 'meet' a lot of "Tomorrows!"

Morning! I start my drive up to Eagle Harbor early tomorrow morning so this is my last post for awhile. I'm hoping the recent heat wave has done the flies in - what do you think my chances are of that?

Nancy...didn't help. Just made them meaner.

Donna, I think you are onto something about meaner flies and hot weather! They seem to really be thriving on this hot weather and on me!

The best anti-bug juice I have found is Off! Active in the orange can. Once applied, it doesn't wash off as easy as the other varieties from sweat, rain, and such. It's also fairly long lasting and does a great job of keeping the wee-beasties away. It even worked well against the biting midges of Scotland...... and that's saying a lot!!

Today was a bit better than yesterday. Not that much humidity. Looks like the weather in Ontonagon is going to remain a bit hot. Forecast is for 80° for a high all week. We cooled off today by walking the beach at Four Mile Rock. Couldn't believe there were no flies for the first 5 minutes. :) Would rather have snow than this heat. Never thought I would ever say that. :)

Thought we were looking at fog today on the big lake, it was smoke from fires in Canada. What a bad year we're having. :(

We hit a high of 100* today!

So did we break the 100 mark. Had the afternoon off so took the grandkids and one of their friends out tubing and swimming. It was awesome. Since we don't have Lake Superior, we always go to the middle of the lake where it's cleaner, lol. You get spoiled when you grow up on THE lake UP there!! I have to say, I don't recall ever living through temps like this. But I'm not gonna complain because winter will soon be upon us and summer is short enough as it is!!
