Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Sunday, July 31, 2011 - 07:59 am:

We pause from our regular Shoebox Memory Sunday feature for our end of month memorial. Although - as an aside - today's photo from James Ludos is a favorite memory of mine on the Pasty Cam, a different angle of a sunset that appeared a few years back. The fingers of land we see is Agate Harbor, in line with the magnificent sunset view from Brockway.

We remember these folks who have passed on, and invite you to add to the honored list:

Gerald Abramson
Eugene "Pap" Allwin
Holly Bekkala
Mildred Heikkinen
Aileen Kangas
John Kelly
Tom Secor

In rememberance of our dear friend Walter Mueller.
It has only been six months and I still hear him driving up our drive on his four wheeler. We sure do miss his laughter and smile. He was a GRAND person who loved everyone. He never met a stranger.

Remembering our recently lost friend Steve Brashaw. Surely he is looking down on his loving family and caring friends now. The pain and sorrow is gone for him and he is preparing a place of peace near him for us. Peace Steve.

WOW!! What an awesome shot today!!

Been thinking a lot about my dad, since we'll be going UP there next month. Remembering him and hoping he's happy where he is. Since he passed, his remaining brother and sister have joined him. Now they're all together again so I'm hoping they've been having a wonderful family reunion. How they all liked get togethers at my uncle's camp in Freda. This was their favorite time of year, as most of them came UP for summer visits. Love you, Dad!! Say "HI" to the rest of your brothers and sisters, and especially to my grandparents, whom I miss so much. See you again some day:)

By Russell E. Emmons (Russemmons) on Sunday, July 31, 2011 - 05:45 pm:

Remembering our mother Ruth Smith originally from Woodside/Dollar Bay. She left us July 17, 06. Bless her, and miss her!

Syls dad would have been 105 yesterday. He left us Dec. 89. Interesting side story to this. sometime after his passing and to this day our kitchen clock we've had there for about 30 years quits EVERY year on his birthday! Put a new battery in it--still won't go! Leave it on the kitchen table for a few days and it will start up on its own! Weird--? Believe this--? Those that are into this stuff say the old man is contacting us--saying hello!--(?) :)

By LeslieP (Leslieintx) on Sunday, July 31, 2011 - 09:00 pm:

Remembering my mom, Ann Sword Beaudoin, who passed away on July 6. Born in Escanaba, grew up in Gladstone, took her degree from Northern Michigan College of Education (now NMU).

She was an awesome mom who gave her all for her family. Like the title of Robert McCloskey's book, Mom gave us our Time of Wonder. We are forever grateful. Miss you so much, Mom.

By Scott D. (Pooch) on Monday, August 1, 2011 - 11:38 am:

Remembering my Grandfather, Thomas Young, who would have been 104 years young on July 31 if he were still with us. Passed away 15 years ago this past January.
