For today's review, in which year was the photographer unknown?

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - 07:24 am:

2008?
First Post?

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - 07:25 am:

I'm guessing with the wind, because 2008 is a map, not a photograph............or it could be just a blonde moment.

...and we thought it was mostly black and white

How about 2003?? I'm thinking that John O'Brien was not the photographer in 1910.

Here I am in Eagle Harbor. Strong winds last night, no electricity (this computer runs off a battery), no water, a tree fell on our rental car causing damage and it's STILL THE BEST PLACE TO BE!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - 10:40 am:

And I suppose the scarecrow was chasing you uphill in a blinding snowstorm as well, Nancyd??? :-P

I heard about the wild weather that was headed for the Keweenaw last night. Any other storm reports to share?? Currently, we are watching a little disturbance in the Atlantic this supposed to cross Florida today and head our way across the Gulf by the weekend. Some say it "could" develop into something tropical, but will have to wait and see.....

That's the attitude Nancyd!
Adapt, survive and enjoy.

I especially enjoyed the photo of the Lady Slipper. I haven't seen
any here yet on my walks, but today, while walking in High Park,
Toronto's equivalent to N.Y.C.'s Central Park, I saw several patches
of wild lupines. Made me homesick for the UP.

We had a couple of hours power outage here in Baraga this morning. Those winds are just wild. There were only hummingbirds out there while I watched, until I saw a flock of geese..OMG..they were flying in a "V" and the wind kicked and they ended up in a "W" and I got out of there before they went "H-E-L-P"....it's wild when it kicks in...can't imagine how wonderful the lake looks today! Need that report Nancyd! :D

Good photos + map.

By sometimesyooper (Nancyd) on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - 06:59 pm:

Haha - no scarecrow - just a couple of mallards in the cove! Electricity and power restored. Insurance companies informed. All is good!

For those of you who are Gmail users, you might want to go back and strengthen your passwords. Apparently, some Chinese hackers have broken into some Gmail accounts, including personal mail accounts. Now might be a good time to strengthen your passwords, to keep them out of yours. Longer passwords, of say 8 or more characters, mixed with numbers, and/or mixing upper and lower case letters with other characters, like punctuation might be a good idea. Just don't forget your password, because you have to re-enter it periodically. I learned another way you can make your account more secure today, which is Google's 2-step verification process, that involves your phone. I still have to think about the second one for myself, so for now, I just went back and strengthened my password. The last think we need is ID theft from foreign governments or other foreign operations!
