That's right folks, in case you haven't checked your Pasty Cam Calendar yet today, it's the longest day of the year and the first day of summer. That can only mean one thing... you have additional daylight hours to enjoy the Upper Peninsula, if you happen to be here today.

E. Neil Harri enjoys the beauty here UP North with a couple of early morning shots taken on this longest day of the year. He said that first shot was taken early in the morning, at sunup over the Keweenaw point. He said the sun is furthest north on this morning, so it shines around the east side of the point, instead of across the land mass. It's just one of the things he notices from the air, since he's up there in flight so often. The second shot was taken right from the window of his home in Eagle Harbor, with the sunrise just coming up over the marina, coloring everything an early morning golden hue.

Looks like the perfect way to start the longest day and hopefully summer here in the Keweenaw. Thanks, Neil!

The first shot reminds me of the lower peninsula. First thing I thought of when I saw it.

So in other words, Mary. Enjoy today cuz it's all down hill from here, lol. And we haven't even started having summer yet!!

Beautiful pictures! Love the sunset pic! I tell ya Donna, Christmas is nearly knocking on the door! ha! The Fourth of July is less than 2 weeks away, known as summer's halfway mark between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend.

Enjoy the Summer folks, Winter comes fast enough, no need to talk about it now (*_*). As it is---Summer is here and so are my seven (7) baby skunks who are wondering more away from the nest, if you will. It is funny if you clap your hands or make a loud noise, their little tails shoot up as they scamper away. LOL..LOL

Thanks for the warning, Donna, battening down the hatches. Big storms hitting Ontonagon right now. Not as much as we expected but, it's here. At least the fire alert will be down. No fish tonight for all of you that were interested, Vollwerth hot dogs on the grill.
