Lou Weber was at the Bridgefest festivities this past weekend and shared some photos with those of us that couldn't be there in person. Of course you have to get a shot of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge, if you're celebrating Bridgefest and Lou did just that in this photo of the boys playing at Chutes and Ladders, with the structure in the background. Once the boys were done playing, it was time to head into downtown Houghton, to grab a good parade viewing spot, so they wouldn't miss a thing. Like the Lady Huskies basketball float, with a number of black and gold "basketballs." I wonder if they dunked any throughout the parade route? Lou's last photo is my favorite, the boys enjoying a soft-serve ice cream treat. How do you know they're enjoying them, you ask? Just look at the ice cream all over their chins... that's a sure sign they were diving into them face first.

I watched some of the parade on John Steinlands webcam of downtown Houghton http://joshsteinland.com/ and didn't know why you guys were having one, but now that you've posted these pics I do, thanks! Everyone looked like they were having a good time.

BTW: it's 84 degrees at 8:46 AM here in Tampa, FL it's going to be a hot day again.

Interesting how we celebrate bridges in Michigan. This one, then you have the annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk, and, I believe, this Saturday (June 25) is the annual International Bridge Walk between Soo, Michigan and Soo, Canada.

Thank you Charlie for the fine cameo on Father's Day. Would be nice if done again next year to have a name of the pasty cammer involved. Don't know who this years might be except saw Deb's once before. Maybe next year I'll have a couple really ancient ones of (now don't you dare repeat this!!!!!)Baby Kay and her daddy from late '30's! He called me his chip off the old block ;o.) His term of indearment for me. Miss him even after 26 years.

All I can say is, everyone better have their passports; not to get into Canada, but to return to the US.... ;-)
