We're definitely coming to the end of the lilac blooming here in the Keweenaw, but there are still some beauties hanging on, scenting the air with beautiful perfumes. I have to confess to coveting Dottie Abe's lilac bushes here. They are so lush and beautiful and I can only imagine the sweet fragrance that must assault her sense of smell, every time she walks out onto her porch. Lilacs aren't around for very long, so if I were Dottie, I'd even consider sleeping out on the porch for the duration of the lilac season, so I could smell every scent they emit. Of course it's also the bug season, so I might just get eaten alive, if I tried that. Guess I'll just have to enjoy them in Dottie's photos for now. Sure wish I could figure out how to make a scratch and sniff on the Pasty Cam. ;->

Beautifu! Ours stopped blooming last week already! Our yard smelled so nice. It was cool though, because ours had stopped, and then we went to Michigan and enjoyed them all over again! It's a great time of year!!!

Awesome pics Dottie! LOVE lilacs....My Gram had a hedge of them in her yard...and she told us "pick all you want..the more you pick, more will be there next year!"
