Connie Mandoli is a newcomer to sharing photos with all of us here, on the Pasty Cam. For her debut, she's taking us all along on a trip to the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, located on M-77, two miles north of Germfask and six miles south of Seney.

Connie starts us off with a look towards an Eagle's nest, but to tell you the truth, I can't see it, can you? Maybe with a set of binoculars, it would be visible. ;-) Or wait, perhaps the viewer in the second photo would give us a better look. Nice to have those available on the viewing deck like that, should you want to get a closer look at some of the wildlife surrounding the lake. Connie's third shot would have been nice, with just the beaver dam featured, but she even captured the beaver swimming home. What a neat ripple his style of paddling makes. But it's the last photo that puts calm and quiet to the whole excursion, it speaks a thousand words, without uttering even one.

Great first showing, Connie!

Looks like the perfect place to visit...peaceful.

Very nice. I have driven past Seney many times, but have never stopped there. Will definitely have to plan a visit in the future.

Do stop in Alex, but watch the road to the Eagle nest. Narrow, bumpy and not paved. Real nature trip.

Thanks Ray.

Hi
We have done the driving tour a couple of times. Dead slow is best in order to see the wildlfe, regardless of the state of the pavement. Eagles are tetchy about humans getting too close, so that probably why the observation deck is so far from the nest.

On the left hand side of the web page above, is a web-cam link to the Seney Wildlife Cam. I wonder if the cam photo and the photo above is of the same pond.

That last picture is so very peaceful looking. Love it!!! So much to see up here!!

On our way here from visiting my friend in Ishpeming, we came across so many deer. But the most exciting thing was to see a bear cross the road. The only place I have only seen a bear is in the good old UP. He was in a big hurry, or I'd have gotten a picture. It was between Michigamme and Champion. Very cool!!!

Wonderful, peaceful pictures. Makes me homesick for
the Upper Peninsula. My favorite is the beaver
swimming home to his dam. What a perfect shot. Way
to go cousin!
