With all the amazing wildlife photos Frederic W. Koski comes up with in his Pasty Gallery Photo Album, it makes me wonder about how he does it. For instance, was he just driving along and spotted this moose, meandering through the thicket of brush and trees, being lucky enough to have time to grab his camera and get the shot? Or maybe he sat for hours, as still as can be, to capture the coyote as it watched and hunted, being there just seconds after it pounced, trying to catch the bird as it's taking off, just out of his reach? Perhaps he trained the squirrel in the last photo, to sit and pose for him, just perfectly displaying his profile, as he munches on an evening snack?

Yes, such photos as Frederic's here today, make me jealous of his knowledge on getting, "just the right shot," over and over again. Maybe we'll have to start Pasty Cam photography lessons online... then enlist Frederic to be one of the first to teach us a thing or two!

...or an Acme road-runner trap. That is a very handsome looking coyote and as they say in Scotland, "Aye, if that's a moose, I'd hate to see a rat." :)

Back on point; those are great photos. Shots like that usually involve a lot of hiking around, and/or being in the right place. I'm hoping to capture a few wildlife shots this year as well when we're in the area in July/August. Naturally though, most of my shots will be of still things; rock and outcrops tend to stay put!!

It amazes me how wild animals are not too scared off by our ATV's. Every time we have gone to Bayfield County with our Atv's we have been able to get reasonably close, within 60-70 ft. to black bears, coyotes, mink, and deer. But then when we ride, we ride to see the scenery, not to get to the next tavern in record time.

I said "Frederic Koski strikes again...before I even saw the name. Thank you for sharing with us. When are you going to become a National Geographic photographer? You really need to travel the Globe and bring the entire world your gift of photography. Bless you and Bless your camera!

I love the pics today, and I'm especially fond of moose. Fred, can you share where you spotted these animals? Just curious.

Thank you for the kind comments. The moose was at the Greenwood passing lane just west of Ishpeming, the coyote and squirrel were at my secret spot, not much human traffic. (I don't give away fishing holes either :) Sometimes if you just sit for an hour or two it's amazing what you can see. Have a great day.

That coyote is very good looking. S/he has a lovely full coat and doesn't look like he's missed too many meals. Very beautiful animal. Isn't it amazing how God gave animals coloring that makes them blend in so well with their surroundings, not matter what time of year. Great photos! Thanks!
