Good morning! May sure did fly by. We finally had a nice day yesteday, but it's ugly and looks like rain again today. We sure don't need any more of that.

Have a great week everybody!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - 02:53 am:

The space shuttle Endeavor just landed in Cape Canaveral/Kennedy, a flawless landing. There is just one more flight, currently scheduled for July 8, before the end of the Space Shuttle program is reached. It is really a shame that this program is coming to an end, and that so many highly qualified, technical people will be layed off, many who have decades of experience in this field. I wish that more people had a feel for just how much the space program has brought for the U.S., as well as for the world, with new plastics, carbon fibers, metals, and other materials, as well as foods, and so very many other things that have become part of our lives over the years. Thank you, NASA, for a job well done!
