Mary, that train car belongs to our family friend, Bud. He was my father's friend from childhood. My dad was Jack Stevens. Jack had a train car like Bud's and it is still in the family at Jack's home on the Houghton Canal. Jack bought his train car from the Copper Range Railroad company when they closed down the roundhouse that used to be in Houghton where the Kestner Park is now located. The little inspector's car was $25.00. It was the steel rail, all 1000' feet of it that was pricey.
The train goes up and down the track when visitors want a ride.... toot toot, chugga chugga, toot toot!

It seems the ducks have the same idea here in Green Bay. There was a large puddle in a field by our house close to Lombardi Ave where I had been seeing 4 Mallards paddling around every day til it dried up (finally). I'm thinking it's warmer and calmer than the Fox River...? Any duck experts out there?
