In which years do we see bridges in today's slideshow?

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 - 08:00 am:

Good Morning. 2003 and 1998, possibly 2002
First Post
The shot in 2002 is actually the railing around the top of the old Radar Building up at Mt Horace Greeley. You can see Mt. Bohemia's ski runs on the horizon.

2002

I see them in 2003 and 2002. Well unless you want to include the crosswalks over the road in Houghton in 1999.

Good morning! It's very brisk today and I have no furnace. Brrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 - 08:02 am:

Oh, oops, the Houghton one was 1998. Sorry. Didn't write that one down cuz wasn't sure it would count.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 - 08:06 am:

Deb, I feel for you. Our furnace was iffy for the last month or so. Finally, it got so cold in here on Sunday, that we had to call the repair guy. Of course, it needed a new circuit board, the most expensive part for it. But, we now have heat again.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 - 08:16 am:

Thanks, Marianne! We can turn the switch on briefly to warm the house up but have to turn it off right away. And it's cold today and going to be colder tonight. Thankfully, I have an electric blanket and mattress pad, lol. I was toasty last night. But the scary part was there was danger of carbon monoxide. So happy I called. We could get a part for it, but it's old so we'll just replace it. It's always something, it seems.

Good morning: In response to a post about me yesterday. Facts are facts.

As to my being wealthy. I am able to live comfortably on some investments and savings. I recive no pensions, just SS. I have been retired about seventeen years and am in reasonably good health.

My posts sometimes do contain some political views but certainly not meant to offend anybody. I love my country and am worried about its future.

I reside in the southeastern part of Wisconsin. Was born in Calumet in 1934. Thanks to all who formed this site...........FJL

By Hollidays (Hollybranches) on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 - 04:04 pm:

Sorry I was so hard on you FJL. I am worried about our country and it's future too but, trying to make the best of the situation. Talking about it doesn't help a thing, revolting doesn't help a thing, voting also doesn't help a thing. Go back to Calumet and live the easy life. That's why I'm UP here.
Weather report; more snow coming and I don't care. :)

By george piker (Sturgeon) on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 - 07:09 pm:

fjl, i, for one, do not find your posts offensive
and i hope you will continue to post your
thoughts.

i can't understand what has happened to
this web site forum. it seems that
someone is offended by anything no matter
how minuscule. it's ridiculous.
and if one is offended -- it's poison.

Wild night for weather. There's a serpentine line of intense storm activity extending from Arkansas up to the middle of the Lower Peninsula. North of that, it's heavy snow. They're expecting 4-8 inches between M-72 and the bridge. The web cam at Crystal Mountain (Thompsonville) is showing pretty much whiteout conditions. Hard to believe winter has been over for almost a month. Be safe out there, travelers.
