E. Neil Harri said he was just "passing by" when he spotted the commercial fishing vessel, Dawn heading out of south Portage Entry amongst a few rather large ice chunks still to be found floating in Lake Superior. Neil pointed out that the boat actually seems to be dragging the reflection of the lighthouse through the water. Do you see it? Pretty neat...

With Neil's second picture, before you get all excited that the Eagle River Falls is really high and gushing water like this, let me tell you that Neil actually took this photo back on 4/30/99 and in sending it to me, he remarked that the water won't be high like this for our Spring meltdown this year, unless we get lots of rain. Neil's picture reminded me of the animated shot of the falls, from the archives. Too bad we don't have sound included. :->

I would LOVE to see those Falls like that, just once. It's not bad when we see it in June, but by August, there's a little trickle flowing down, lol.

Good Morning! Neil, I love your bird's eye views, and your view of Eagle River Falls is amazing! I haven't seen them so "angry" before!

Yesterday, Mary was talking about the falls in my son's pictures from a week ago, and she thought they would be different now. Well, I do have a direct comparison, that she told me to go ahead and put up this morning, since she is out of town for a few days. What an incredible difference just 7 days makes, in the Eagle River Falls. I didn't send her the one from a week ago because I thought it was boring, but it is very interesting as a comparison to Saturday, April 9, 2011!

All good photos, and the action photo is neato.

The falls picture was taken on 4/30/2009. It was running pretty good this morning on way to work.

We can hear the falls roaring tonight, from over here in the western suburbs of Eagle River. Thanks Neil, Marrianne, and Russ for sharing these pictures. We walked past the falls yesterday and said, "there's a Pasty Cam shot".
