Wow! I didn't even know I'd actually snagged that Deeply Satisfying Blast of Blue until we got home at 8:00 this evening from a terrific day of skiing. I guess being in Early Bird mode pays off in more ways than one!
On good roads, it's about two hours from the dune to Caberfae Peaks, and I roust us extra early because I really don't like lugging all our ski gear a quarter mile across an icy parking lot. This morning the roads were pretty raw, but we had a great head start and got a great parking spot about 30 feet from the lodge door, got a good table inside with an electric outlet for our crock pot, and were on the lift right at opening. And what a gorgeous day! Some pretty stiff wind up on top of the peaks in the morning, but you can see forever up there so it's worth the frosty cheeks. We got extra bonus sun this afternoon, less wind, and the snow was just perfect. Even got to spend an hour with Pat, Caberfae's Top Gun instructor, and he showed me a couple of new tricks that sent the fun factor way north. A day to treasure!
Really sloppy and snowy on the ride home, but I'll take that with a smile any day that has that much fun between the brackets.
Good evening,all!
