As promised yesterday, we're treated to more photographs that tell another part of the "rest of the story" for the Michigan Tech Winter Carnival festivities that took place this past weekend. Of course the big story is always the statue building, but there were many other things going on, as depicted in Bob Gilreath's photos (the first four) and the last one from Joe Kirkish. From mule drawn wagon tours of the snow statues, to dog-sled rides around campus, there were smiles all over town, including a big one from Blizzard T. Husky, as he watched the broom ball competition and cheered them on.

There was even a stage revue, where students performed skits that were filled with laughs and college humor about life on campus. Yes, indeed, Winter Carnival is definitely a fun time and a unique way to celebrate the winter weather we enjoy here in the Keweenaw.

I stand corrected on the animals pulling the wagon...they are MULES, not horses. My apologies to any mules or horses I may have offended! ;->

Love them Mules!

There was an article in yesterday's Free Press about a man driving a horse-drawn carriage at the Rochester ice carnival and he sideswiped several cars. The police found a half-empty bottle of vodka in the man's pocket.
What was really funny is that there is no legal alcohol limit while driving a carriage. The driver however, was then tasered after resisting arrest and striking the officer. Some people just never learn.

Thank goodness he admitted to the booze, instead of accusing the horses of drinking it.

What a fun filled day in the snow! Can we look forward to more pics from it?

Have a nice 'hump' day!
