Michigan Tech Winter Carnival came to a conclusion over the weekend. If you weren't able to be there, then you're in luck, since several folks contributed photos for today's icy report on a number of the constructed snow statues. The first two photos are thanks to Joe Kirkish. Number three is from Robert C. Wetton. Four, five and six are compliments of Bob Gilreath. And number seven comes by way of Barb Bouwkamp.

It's not the same as being there in person to see all the intricate details these college students perfect, but it's the next best thing to view them on the Pasty Cam. If you'd like to know more about the Winter Carnival results, check out the following link: Michigan Tech Winter Carnival.
Stay tuned for tomorrow, when we'll feature more photos from other events of the weekend.

WOW, WOW, WOW....intricate, delicate, unbelieveable.....and they sure are getting much more detailed compared to "back in the day"....the clock is phenomenal.

Thank you to everyone involved, from the builders to the photographers!

My favorite one was the train 'that could', get up and over the bridge AND the one in Hancock. They were all great.

Very nice! Thanks guys and Barb.
Are these sculptures done by art students at Tech?

By Rowdy (Roudymi) on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 - 09:16 am:

Only if Art was one of the students. I remember building a Replica of "Ol Reliable" one year (almost 30' to the roof peak) and another year a Hansel & Gretal themed house out of ice blocks cut from the Portage canal.
