If you're a lover of lighthouses or just want a quiet get-away, then Brenda Leigh's photo tour here today, might be just what you're looking for. Big Bay Point Lighthouse is not only a place with some history of days gone by, but also a bed and breakfast where you can live the life of a lighthouse keeper, right on the shores of Lake Superior. Brenda shares some photos of time she spent there, including a closer look at the BIG bug in the yard. Thank goodness it's winter time, otherwise you'd have to be wearing plenty of bug repellent to keep that one from biting. It looks like a great place to explore, so if you head there this time of year, be sure to bring your snowshoes along!

I don't know Mary; that looks like one those elusive Lake Superior monitor lizards to me.....

Big Bay Pt. Lighthouse is in such a beautiful setting on the cliff looking over the lake. I haven't been there in the winter yet, but it looks like it's worth the drive. I heard that it was for sale a while ago, but I don't know if it ever sold.

Pretty place! That lizard has a tail like a scorpion....if stung by that, you've 'bought the farm'!:D

I stayed there sometime back in late 80's or early 90's -- and the innkeeper was quite a character -- man by the name of Buck, I believe. I don't think he's there any longer, but all in all, it was an awesome visit -- in a beautiful setting. I'd like to go back some day......

Seems that the Big Bay Light/B & B also has a reputation for some 'other worldly' occupants, tho when my relatives stayed there they didn't encounter them.

Nice photos Brenda! All my time in Marquette and I've only been to Big Bay a couple of times.
