Over in Marquette, the parks are even getting trimmed up for Christmas. Robert Halonen snapped these shots in the Presque Isle area, giving us a glimpse of the gazebo and accompanying tree all decked out in red and the breakwall all covered in an icy white. With all the different colors popping up everywhere outdoors for the Christmas season, it sure brightens up the landscape from just the plain blanket of white we've been wearing lately.

Hi
It's nice to see decorations, in parks or wherever. I commute home to Ann Arbor on a busy SE Michigan highway, M-14, often in the dark. Some kind soul has decorated a pine tree up on an embankment as a Christmas tree. It brightens the drive to see the Christmas lights.

We can't seem to break the #18 place on the Pepsi Refresh voting. I hope everyone has taken the time to help our historic theatre by voting:

Good job on both pics. It's not very often you see Christmas ornaments on a tree outdoors.

I used to make a few trips between the Keweenaw and Houston around Christmas time and just south of Rockford, IL on I-39 there are 2 pine trees in the median that someone always decorates this time of year. I don't remember if it had lights on it as we never traveled there at dark, but it used to be very nice to see it along the highway so I can understand your thrill Kathyrn when you see your tree along M-14.

Years ago one summer there was an evergreen tree out on a little rock island in the middle of a river in the northern portion of Yellowstone Natl Park....with Christmas lights on at nite. Some of the younger seasonal park staff took it upon themselves to do this with car batteries!
