We honor and thank our veterans ~ and current troops ~ for their service to America.

We have all been voting for the ambulance project on the Pepsi site. Each day you can vote for 10 different projects. There are many involving veterans.

This plaque is right on the St. Clair River, downtown Marine City in the Holy Cross Church parking lot. I thought it fitting to post this on this date. These guys deserve credit and honor too!

Special Thanks to my 92 year old uncle, Uncle Rudy Aittama from Bootjack/Livonia, wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and prisioner of war. Thanks for your service! I enjoy listening to your stories any time!

You Uncle Rudy is a good friend of my Dad's. They share a L'Anse
Sentinel and are both members of the same church and the Finnish
Center.

My Dad was also in the Battle of the Bulge and was wounded but never came off the line. The cold probably stopped the bleeding. Unlike many of his buddies from basic he escaped being captured and went on to be wounded in February '45 at a town called Duren. That was his 'ticket home'.

Wish he was still here to tell the stories of his service. He never got to the point of wanting to talk about it before he left us.

Thanks again veterans ~ we appreciate your service and sacrifices for us all.
