Death Is Not an End
Understand that death is not an end, but a beginning; not a horror, but a joy. It is not a closing down, but an opening up.
The happiest moment of your life will be the moment it ends.
That's because it doesn't end but only goes on in ways so magnificent, so full of peace and wisdom and joy, as to make it difficult to describe and impossible for you to comprehend.

Remembering my late husband Robert Easker, who lost his battle to cancer 12 years ago on Thanksgiving Night. As I read today's comments I was saddened by the number of those who passed on the holiday. Somehow Thanksgiving is not the same anymore.
By Stewart Keskitalo (Skeskitalo) on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 - 08:58 am:
Remembering my mother who passed away on Thanksgiving Day 1974. Day by day she is always with me. Once it it came as humor as my brother,John was in a hospital in Milwaukee,Wisconsin (Yes,MSU handily beat them in football) with pancreatitis whihh can be deadly with mortality rates as high as 50%. The staff kept at John asking him to confess that he was an alcoholic (which he wasn't}. So I came to visit John and as I stepped off the elevator a Catholic priest noticed me. He again asked me if John liked a nip or two as alcoholism is the biggest cause of pancreatitis. No I told the priest and as a matter of fact we all ( as children of Lynn} thought that if we drank to excess she would come down from heaven and scold us. As for that four out of five of her children don't drink and one does occasionally. Alcoholics cause so many traffic deaths that I wish that we had a zero tolerance that Finland has for the driver. No excuse, no attorneys. Just jail.

Some people are so afraid to die that they never begin to live.
My departed family and friends lived life to the fullest. We should all follow the example.
The end of the month on Pasty Cam is a real bummer.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 - 06:13 pm:
My condolences to all of you people who have lost somebody this month, but I had no idea that Viv Holzberger passed away. My condolences to Susan, Sandra and the boys. I grew up with them and I'm sincerely sorry to hear that your mom passed away.
I lost my last 2 uncles this month. My mom's last sibling passed away in early November and my dad's last sibling passed away right before Thanksgiving. It's a strange feeling knowing that there's only my mom left. I'm so grateful to still have her.
And Hollidays, I'm sorry you don't approve of the end of the month tribute on pasty. Maybe you shouldn't read any of it. It seems the rest of us feel it an honor to pay tribute to our friends & relatives who have passed.

We'll also miss Bob Raffaelli's accordion music. Such a nice man. We were at the Range Lounge in South Range last year in October when he was taken to the hospital for by-pass surgery.
Mary says: Actually Ken, the Robert Raffaelli listed above is Bob's grandson. Bob is still playing accordion, I just had the pleasure of hearing him play last Friday at the Bluffs. My sympathies to the family and to all who have lost loved ones recently.

I also agree with Deb & Janie T. The last day of the month page is a nice way of remembering people who we loved & had an impact on our lives & lives of others. And like Deb, sometimes when we don't live in the Country Country we don't realize that someone has passed away that we knew & we see it here. Keep the tradition of it going Mary & Charlie.

Thank you, Donna, Cheryl, and others, for the reminder of the wonderful reunion which awaits us in Heaven with our departed loved ones. It is sorrowful when a loved one passes on to the next life, but it is comforting to know that our loved ones are with those who had gone before them ... and so it continues. God Bless.
