Amy Cloutier and her four-legged friend were recently out at White City near Jacobsville, for a visit to Superior's shores. They both seem to be enjoying the solitude you find at the beach this time of year, proving it's still a great place to recharge your batteries, even with the cooler temperatures. You just have to dress a little warmer and move a little more to keep your body heated. If you're wondering who enjoyed this jaunt to the beach more, just take note of the look of contentment on the pooches face. I think that pretty much says it all.

Good morning all ~
Yes, beautiful day across America!
And what better way to start it than with SUPERIOR, a LIGHTHOUSE and a cute pooch in the picture.

This yellow Lab looks to be a big cuddler. When we vacation UP north, in any Lake Superior region, our Scottish Terriers come along too.

There's nothing quite like being on the beach with your dog. Great pics!

Contentment...you took the words right out of my mouth, Mary. Ahhh…a dog's life.

Note: Masters do not take their dogs out for walks. The dogs walk their masters -- just check the look on their faces. You'll know which has the power.

JAD: I'm not sure that the term "Masters" is the right one to describe our relationship with our pets. Much of the time I think "Caregivers" or "Hand Servants" would be more descriptive...
awwww....what a precious doggie! Seems the larger the dog breed, the gentler they are. Don't get me wrong, I love the small ones too!:) Yes, I agree, a wonderful time across this country today! Sorta like New Year's Day.....'"take" out the old, ring in the NEW!';D

I just adopted a dog here in Minocqua and he has the same happy look on his face that the one here in the photo does. I can't imagine living without a dog.
I named my puppy Sgt. Pepper... I'm a huge Beatles fan. I hope to bring him to see Lake Superior soon. I'm sure that he will love it!

You just haven't lived until you've met a St. Bernard that thinks it's a lapdog! Ol' cousin John (Jack) Nara's pal "Freckles" comes to mind … <grin>

Makes me miss my "best friend". His ears were often the first thing to catch my tears.

You have to love the loyal dogs. I have a Golden and it's like a person not a dog. She is the best companion ever. And to the Beatles fan: And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make........ Abbey Road. Seems to apply to pet owners. I call it all Beatles wisdom that is in all their songs.

Good quote... My dwarf rabbit is actually named Abbey because of that.

The wonderful thing about dogs is the happiness they bring. Look at the face of the owner. Not that today's music is bad,it's just that the music of the past seems to have more of a positive message. The songs say something that is uplifting. The Beatles did this well. It has to be the reason we are still listening all these years later. The movement we need is on our shoulders! Hey Jude....what could be better wisdom for today's problems???
