Thank you, Mary, for your help! I sent you the .jpg from this morning. I wish I had grabbed it a minute or two earlier, when the sunlight was more direct, but the reflection of the sky can still be seen on the Portage, along with the beautiful Mt. Ripley. I also sent you the code I used that returns the errors.
For all, our local TV station here in mid-Michigan said that the UP, from US 2 and north, all along Lake Superior is "At Peak" this weekend! It's too bad that Mich Tech's Family Weekend is next weekend instead of this one. (Unfortunately, we will not be able to go, but hopefully sometime we will be able to get UP there during color season.)
Uncle Chuck & Marty: you all picked the best time to go up there. Our oldest son is headed up there tomorrow, to help recruit for his company at Tech's Career Fair through Tues, so he will be able enjoy the spectacular color this year, if he can get away from meetings. And he will get to see his youngest brother, a Tech freshman, while he is up there.
Have a great weekend! I hope the weather holds for you all!

Gorgeous pictures! Those northern lights are so beautiful! My son's former girlfriend is living in Alaska and we get to see pictures of the Northern lights all the time. They're really something when you live in Alaska!
