These photos and the note that accompanied them from Bill Haller made me smile. He gave them some clever names - Jack-o-lantern and Jill-o-lantern and of course we can't forget his lovely other half... Eloise, she's the one with the sunglasses on. ;-> Then, just when I thought we were done with anything green until next spring, Bill went on to explain how their decorations are "green"... read on:
"Let me explain the "green" side to the Halloween decorations - Unlike Christmas trees that can create disposal issues, this display is really critter-friendly, assuming it is far enough away from your home.
We re-use the characters year-to-year, and the pumpkins are either consumed in one over-night feeding by bears or more usually, piece-meal over the course of several days by deer, with the scraps going to rodents and birds. The ears of corn on the stalks are consumed once snow covers anything else edible, and the hay bales serve as a small critter shelter and make it well into winter, before being finally consumed. Come spring, the site is clean!"
So I guess it's a one way trip on the Gator for everything but Jack, Jill and Eloise. That's my kind of decorating, when you only have to put them up and someone else takes them down. Thanks for sharing the fun!
