When Jamie Harter drove by the Big Traverse marina, recently, she had to stop and do a double-take of the scene across the river. Then grabbing her camera, she started snapping, to capture this odd looking dockage of the fishing boat, Spirit. First thought looking at this boat with it's stern up on shore like that, is a tornado must have whipped through and deposited it there, but come to find out, the motor needed some work, so the owners used some heavy construction vehicles on shore, to pull the large vessel out of the water enough to work on it's engine. Quite a strange sight, and thanks to Jamie that we all get to see it, too.

I had a expletive come out of my mouth when I saw this! (It started with Holy!) WOW!!! LOL

Interesting photo. Thanks. However, wouldn't that be the *stern* up out of the water, eh? ;-)
Mary says: Very observant, Jim...it's always good to see that people actually DO read my notes. Correction noted!

Jim, I think you're right. What I thought was the owner came in late one Saturday night and attempted to back into the slip, but over-accelerated. ;)

Well the explanation makes sense but the possibilities of funny captions could make for some real fun! Come on Alex, Uncle Chuck and you other funny guys...

Please, everyone, help Copper Harbor and the Keweenaw by voting for the ambulance building! I've noticed that the days the link is posted on Pasty, the ranking tends to improve, but the days the link is not posted here, the ranking has fallen. Please support the hard-working and dedicated people who try to make life better an safer for everyone!
This is very frustrating - I cannot post the link to the Pepsi Challenge site. This has happened on and off before. Mary, can you help, please? In the meantime, please go to refresheverything.com and type "Copper" in the search field to get to the Copper Harbor ambulance barn voting page. Thank you!!

ILMH etc. I've be head - knocking frustrated everyday when someone reminds us to vote! I've NEVER been able to connect that way. So right there is a months worth of votes. I can't be THAT dense! Why do they make it so hard for us simple folk. I really understand the desperate need for that Copper Harbor ambulance...it could have been me needing it.

Check out that old gas pump in the last photo! Those are quite the collectables. Some can be worth a great deal of money.

Kay Moore-I find it difficult to add my votes for the ambulance in Copper Harbor as well. Must be doing something wrong. Lack of computer knowledge.

Wow Kay...that is some imagination you have there. Have you been hitting the Jack Daniels again? :) That's not one of those bottomless boats, is it? Well whatever, I think we all deserve a "stern" warning.

I KNEW you could come up with something Alex :O>) And by the way I had my annual drink while on vacation a couple weeks ago. And it was something with brandy in it. At least that's what my friends were drinking and I ordered one of whatever they had. MY weakness is donuts not booze. That's how I keep my girlish figure.
