As the leaves turn... that would be a good Yooper reality show, don't you think? Well, maybe not, but the leaves have pretty much turned, for the most part, here UP North and are now beginning their descent to cover the ground. John Sturos snapped some pictures of the continuing event out in Bootjack, with three little guys enjoying a run through the crunching leaves, too. All those little boys see in the leaves is fun and laughter, where us adults might view them as a job ahead, having to rake them all up. Good reminder to slow down and enjoy what's left of the colors of autumn, like children do and worry about the raking tomorrow.

Thank you, John! Wonderful photos. The middle shot is just incredible .... an image beyond price.

I agree with you about the middle pic, Dunerat! Even though the leaves are beautiful on the trees, at this time of year, I think they're equally beautiful on the ground. Harks me back to childhood, playing amongst the leaves.:)

Brings to mind, the song lyric: After the boys of summer have gone.

Marty and I saw them peak last week, the colors were just fantastic. Can't wait to get back U.P. in November.

Nice Autumn pics, as long as I don't have to rake the leaves up (lol).

No need to rake, Thomas, they make good fertilizer for the spring grasses. ;)

They say Mother Nature is "putting on her blanket for her long winter's nap" with the leaves.
