Last week there was a news report about a business that started up in the current recession, which the announcer said took a lot of courage. I agree, it’s a rough climate nowadays to start a new enterprise, but can you imagine forming a new company in the middle of the Civil War? That’s what Philip Scheuermann did, a carpenter from my hometown (Eagle River) who had the opportunity to buy the former William Ault Brewery, which became known as the “Union Brewery”. It went through some name changes over the years, eventually ending up with the Bosch label. You can read the whole story at the late Kevin Musser’s CopperRange.org.
Edie and I are still on the road this week, today having a tour of the Teton Mountains. Wonder if there are any former yooper Pasty Camwatchers living out here in Wyoming?
Well, Pasty People, the ambulance center is now at 13. We were at 14 for several days so it is going to be a tough grind. But I am confident in Past Power. Let's give it a big push for the week and see how we end up[ next Sunday. Incidentally, there was an horrific accident near Lake Medora, five-miles from the Harbor, and we needed an ambulance at the scene NOW. They had to send three from Calumet and Houghton. Pleas help out and vote today and every day. Thanks
Donald, I'm not sure about the fairness of the voting at this site. I can vote as many times in a day as I want to simply by restarting Internet Explorer for each vote.

The Tetons, Charlie & Edie?! What grandeur! The way those mountains rise up out of that 'Hole' is an awesome sight. I hope you share some of your photos with your Pasty-fans when you return....haven't seen that beautiful place since 1984.

I agree they need an ambulance in Copper Harbor. I saw the accident that Donald talked about above. It did not look good while I drove past it.

From what I understand, Copper Harbor does have an ambulance. It is in the fire dept. and that is why they need a garage, if you will, to house the ambulance and get it out of the fire dept. location. If this is true, that they have an ambulance, why can't the ambulance be used for emergencies?

These guys had the best beer! I can remember Gilt Edge (their premium beer) selling for 4-5 dollars a six pack downstate in the early seventies. Of course in Hancock it was only only $1.10 - a bargain!
