53° now, but it was 43° at 6am here in the thumb. Good day to dig up the potatoes.

Seems like fall is in the air up there. At 4:30 this morning in SE TX, it was 81 with a heat index of 90...... at 4:30 in the morning!!!!

I'm tired of this heat/humidity. We were starting to cool off slightly until Hermine came through and dumped all the rain. It will take 2 weeks just to burn off all the humidity!! I'll be glad when I don't have to run the a/c in both directions to and from work.

Theresa, I log onto the Bear Den site everyday and cried when I found out that Sarah, one of the research bears, was shot. Its a long way off before the middle of next month when bear hunting season is over. Until then I worry about the rest of the collared/ribboned bears, especially Lily and Hope.
