The season for heading over to Isle Royale on the Queen IV, is quickly coming to a close, as the run from Copper Harbor to the Island ends Sept. 27th, according to the schedule on their webpage. Thanks to Rose Riemer, we get to take one last ride here on the Pasty Cam. For some folks (myself included), there's something special about being out on the Big Lake when she's relatively calm of course and watching the boat cut through the water, leaving that churned up trail behind you. Not to mention the different perspectives you get to see of the land while out on the lake, that's unique in itself. Rose's shot coming into Copper Harbor with the buoy and the lighthouse is a great example of that. If you stay on dry land, you only see scenes like this from a distance. So many ways to enjoy the Keweenaw!

Mary is so right! To really appreciate Lake Superior, a trip on the Queen is a must. Our ventures were amazing!

Having been in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for about 12 years, I especially like the pic of the aids to navigation (they are all good pics, 2).
