I hope the bride wasn't late for her wedding.

That shot was taken after the wedding ceremony, on the way to the reception. That's our son Jonathan (right) - the original Pasty Camist - and his wife Katriina.

An article in the Milwaukee paper:
"John Hopkins University scientists trying to determine why people develop serious mental illness are focusing on an unlikely factor: a common parasite spread by cats.

The researchers say the microbes, called 'Toxoplasma gondii' invade the human brain and appear to upset it's chemistry-creating in some people, the psychotic behaviors recognized as schizoprenia."

This might explain the strange behavioral patterns of cat owners....:o)

FJL, I own a dog but I still hear voices in my head and feel lonely in a crowded room. :)

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 10:31 am:

I agree with Deb, 2003 "foggy morning" is pretty nice!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 10:58 am:

I had a cat for 15 years with no unusual problems. Now, if you will excuse me, I must say hello to my special friends and have my worms declawed again.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 11:03 am:

By the way, nice set of photos.

Scientific proof that cats are really here to take over the world, one crazy cat lady at a time......

By Uncle Chuck (Unclechuck) on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 04:17 pm:

Cats where once worshipped as gods; they have not forgotten this. My three remind me every day. >^..^<

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 08:33 pm:

Several breeds of dogs were worshiped as Gods as well.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 09:00 pm:

As do our 3 cats, Cindy.....

I don't know Uncle Chuck; at one time on here, Texas was a bad word as well, and in this house it still is at times!! ;-)

By Russell E. Emmons (Russemmons) on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 - 10:19 pm:

FJL: Lots on Google about this, even the mental illness studies. Seems to me, and I wonder if an oral treatment of X # ccs of off list Ivermectin would take care of this. Ivermectin was originally a worm/parasite treatment for horses/cattle but is now used quite successfully for dogs etc. to treat Sarcoptic Mange. Even more recent it is being prescribed by human Doctors to treat Scabies, another infestation from parasites. Both are different species of mites.

BTW ---has anyone noticed that "Advantage" 'Revolution" and "Frontline" are about the only medications anymore that will thoroughly kill fleas? Such old standbys like "Sargeants", "Hartz Mountain, "Farnam" etc. just don't do the job now. Seems so many parasites, insects have become resistant to the pesticides, medications just as many bacteria are now resistant to so many antibiotics. Scary!

Yooperguide, Not this time,lol, it's...Butt!
