Cool, breezy day in paradise.

I would rather be in Paradise then H**l. A small town in the L.P.

Yesterday eastern Iowa had temps of 90+ and humidity levels at 75, today temps at 65-68, and humidity level at 55. What a difference a day can make, thankfully! Winter hair is beginning to grow on my ponies. A good Sunday to all!

Good morning! We saw those big ships in Duluth this year. They are spectacular and we got a lot of pictures, but they were taken in MN so maybe some day I'll get them posted to my gallery for you guys to see.

Also have a picture pretty much like the one taken of the Mackinaw City lighthouse. We blew it up and it's hanging on my mom's wall. I love that area and really missed going there this year. We'll see what happens next year.

Have a wonderful day!

I especially like the canoes on Isle Royale, reflecting falls, and the blackberries (yummo).

Where was Senter?

By Mr. Bill (Mrbill) on Sunday, August 15, 2010 - 02:31 pm:

Dave -

Senter location "still is" adjacent to Point Mills, about two miles from Dollar Bay. Named after John Senter, a noted Eagle River businessman, Postmaster, insurance and dynamite salesman, he also helped write the admission standards for the Michigan School of Mines.

Mr Bill, I'm wondering where Sedar Bay is? Many thanks! :-)

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Sunday, August 15, 2010 - 09:21 pm:

Sedar Bay is NW of Calumet. It can be reached by taking the Tamarack Waterworks Rd. west of Calumet off from M-203.

FYI: we're back safe and sound but begrudgingly (sp?). The Keweenaw was warm, but nothing compared to the 101 it was when we arrived.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, August 16, 2010 - 08:19 am:

Thank you, Capt Paul, for the information on Sedar Bay. I hope we can visit while we are UP there. We're going up on Thursday, but we have a ton of stuff to get done before we leave, to take our youngest son up to Tech. At least there's a wonderful carrot at the end of this stick, so to speak. :-)

I thought that neither Houston nor Dallas had made it up to 100 yet this summer, but then you are inland from Houston, anyway. Stay cool!
