Tom,Tom, no not this year. Our property was in the floods of '08. In fact parts of our property is still swampy from the flood of '08. I'm in east-central Ia. Colfax is more in central Iowa nearing the Des Moines area, Iowa State University in Ames is also in this flooded area going on now. All these floods we are having in Iowa is getting rather old and tiring!

Uncle Chuck, have a wonderful birthday. I'm also a 13th of the month birthday.(Nov).And hope you have many more. :)

I'm using the Ranger III on Tuesday to go to Isle Royale. Does anyone know if it is able to go under the Lift Bridge or what is the current status re. the bridge's problems?

Happy birthday Uncle Chuck. My uncle Charley lived to be 108, so maybe you should start calling yourself Charley. New grandson is also a Charlie not a Chuck, Chaz, Charley,or a Charles. Still waiting for a grandson named Michael.

Love the looks of those thimbleberries. Yum, yum! We actually found some out here in Minnesota at Gooseberry Falls the weekend before we headed for the UP. Of course, they didn't taste as good as Copper Country thimbleberries. We didn't even find time to pick any this year. Well, we picked enough to eat, lol!!!

My daughter Linda's birthday was also on Aug 13th. She loved it when her day was on a Friday.
She passed away 5 1/2 years ago, complications of alcoholism. That was heartbreaking, she was only 40 at the time. We have several other friends who celebrate their day on the 13th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to all who have a b'day today.
