We have come a long way with digital color and clarity. The next step in photo evolution would be to actually transport us there and experience it live. Maybe one of those "Beam me up Scotty" machines.

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP -- Some abandoned pets not only need a home, they also need your vote.

The Marquette County Humane Society is part of the All Star Animal Rescue Site Shelter Challenge through Petfinder.com.

The challenge is simple.

The shelter with the most votes wins a $10,000 grant.

All you have to do is go to the animal rescue-site.com and vote for the Marquette County Humane Society.

They're in 4th place, but not far out of 3rd, which carries a $5,000 grant.

"We need people to go the Animal Rescue Site dot com, vote as many times as you can through august 22nd, if everybody votes we have a really good shot at winning at least third place - and the animals deserve it," said Shelter Manager, Dana Kennedy.

Other shelters around the U.P. are encouraging people to vote for the Marquette County Humane Society.

You can do your part by logging on to the AnimalRescueSite.com and voting everyday until August 22.

Has anyone heard of what is going on out at Rabbit Bay Island. something about beiing able to camp out there. Just wondering

It is to bad people, young people, do not respect other peoples property. The back side of the bandshell, that is all white, had names all over it that someone put in big letters. It is to bad. ;O(
