One year anniversary of the news that my beautiful neice Britta E. Malette was gone. I love and miss you. Paris is thriving and talks about you every day to keep your memory alive.

That's sad, Theresa. It's so very sad when young people are gone so soon.

Have a great Sunday everybody! A week from today and we'll be up there. Sure hope the berries are still thriving by then.

Very good. I like the butterflies (I hope the monarch butterfly didn't drown), lighthouses, and water bead pics in particular.

The pictures are great today as always!! The memories I have of the Calumet Armory dances... They were fun, but being a girl from the big city caused lots of issues back then. LOL... And of course I loved the picture of the Lac La Belle store!! Have a great week everyone!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, especially little Paris, on your tremendous loss. I will never forget when you first told me about the tragic murder of your niece in front of her very young daughter. Cotton has some experience with her family in the domestic violence area, as well. Those are something one never gets over. I pray that in time, it diminishes in your mind! Take care!

It's nice to finally get a nice day again, without torrential rains or feeling like you live in the Louisiana swamp, but you are really in mid-Michigan! High five for good weather for a change! :-)

Went to the county fair today, warmed the cockles of my heart. Everything was based on 4-H. These kids UP here are really into living off the land. Kind of reminded me of Mayberry RFD, including Aunt Bee's pickles winning the Blue Ribbon. Such a sweet, comfy, cozy place. That's how life should be; simple.

When my mom was going to Calumet High School she was the head of the decorating dept. and she use to decorate and make sets, if you will, for plays and things like that. What truly amazed me growing up is the things my mom use to do as far as decorating and stuff like that. I have a Christmas-cartoon drawing of me that she did and use to put in the living room window every year. It is about 51 years old now and the colors are still beautiful. I always meant to have it- professionaly, put into a frame but, of course never have done it yet. I have some of my brothers, too. ;O)

I meant to also say she decorated the Calumet Armory for things like that.
