Every year has some lightning somewhere. But if you mean in today's collage, it was 2002.

Perhaps in the future we need a Wise Guy award

Great 4th of July Memory Lane walk. The nature's fireworks photo reminds me of the 1982 National Cherry Festival when there was lightning flashes off to the west while the closing fireworks display was going on. It was concluded before the storm arrived.

Later in the evening after watching the fireworks show in South Range on the night of the 4th of July in 1978, I remember seeing the northern lights illuminate the entire overhead sky. It was better than any fireworks I've seen then or since. Too bad we couldn't get Mother Nature to schedule a show like that every year. And it wouldn't have to be cancelled or reduced because of budget cuts, either.

Hot and humid today in paradise. Friday turned into "Flyday". Still love living in Paradise. Storms are blowing in and Gitchee Gumee is roaring. Cooking hotdogs wrapped in bacon over charcoal. Going to see the fireworks in Bruce Crossing tonight. Wish you all a happy fourth!
